At Providence, inspection and testing is an integral part of our manufacturing operations and is driven by our commitment to lean manufacturing strategies, 7S, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and our compliance with ISO 9001, 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, and IATF 16949 standards. Our Commitment to Quality Control

Each component and finished good made at Providence is monitored for strict quality control at all stages of manufacturing, with the goal of Zero Defects. For each item, the process FMEA of critical features dictates the inspections performed at the in-process and semi-finished assembly stages, with 100% inspection an option for final testing.

From safety tests on every unit to dimensional checks on a statistical sample, whether the inspection is electrical, mechanical, or optical, we supply a vast range of product testing solutions. All of the solutions are designed in coordination with our product development team, as part of our overall DFX approach.

Our Testing Capabilities

We offer a full suite of testing methods and equipment to match our customers’ product type, application, industry, and relevant regulatory requirements. These tests include:

  • Burst, leak and flow testing for pneumatic and liquid control products

  • Force and torque tests for motors and pumps

  • Electrical function and continuity tests for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs)

  • Safety tests including hipot, wire flame, perpendicular flame and parallel flame

  • Heat deflection temperature and plastic melt index testing of plastic resins

  • Environmental tests like vibration, salt spray, and humidity

Inspection Methods and Technology

We also provide inspection processes to complement our testing services. Some of these include:

  • Visual inspection of cosmetic surfaces, color and printed character verification
  • CMM dimensional, tolerance, and distance measurement
  • Gear measurement: face width, width space, tooth thickness, pressure angle, X-ray, video scope, and microscope inspection

We excel in the development of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems involving plastics, pumps, motors, and electronics. In addition to consideration for Design for Excellence, we are highly experienced in Design for Manufacturing. Our core engineering experience centers around pump and motor development and working with our customers to collaborate on best design for their product application. Designing and Developing products for efficient and consistent manufacturing, cost effectiveness and quality production is our specialty.
